About Astracot Cakes
My name is Louise Waller-Smith, and I founded Astracot Cakes whilst on maternity leave from my job in the classical music industry.
I have been a keen cake baker since childhood, when I plagued my mother with requests to bake cupcakes (or fairy cakes as they were then!), but it was only when I had a little more experience and time to bake that I realised how much I enjoyed being able to experiment and create cakes that look beautiful as well as being tasty.
I have two little girls, both of whom already adore baking, and we have great fun making seasonal goodies.
Whilst it is a cake maker's dream to be given artistic free rein, clients usually have fixed ideas about the kind of cake they would like, so I am always happy to cater to requirements or to adapt any ideas you might already have.

All cakes are baked using fresh, high quality ingredients, including free range eggs, butter, real vanilla bean paste and dark chocolate with minimum 55% cocoa solids, all of which ensure the best flavours and textures in a cake. Both the white and dark chocolate ganache that covers the cakes is made with fresh double cream and all cakes are covered with fondant icing, unless otherwise specified.
Food Hygiene Rating
Astracot Cakes has been awarded level 5, the top rating in food hygiene. This rating given shows how well a business is doing overall and specifically:
how hygienically the food is handled
the condition of the structure of the buildings
how the business manages what it does to make sure food is safe
To get the top rating of ‘5’, businesses must do well in all three elements.
Please get in touch if you require gluten and/or dairy free cakes, as I am happy to cater to requirements (my youngest daughter is in fact allergic to wheat, eggs and nuts). Please note that it is the client's responsibility to make Astracot Cakes aware of any special dietary requirements and that Astracot Cakes is unable to accept liability for any allergic reactions suffered from eating any of our cakes.
A complimentary design consultation is included free of charge, held at Astracot Cakes in Datchet.
Collection / delivery
Cakes will be packaged in cake boxes suitable for transportation should you wish to collect your cake order. Prices do not include delivery, but I am happy to deliver locally - prices will depend on distance and assembly time. Please get in touch for further information.
Please note that all cakes will be photographed on completion for inclusion on this website. The images may be published on the site before collection/delivery unless otherwise specified.
